Asia Racing Team to field Rodolfo Ávila and Sam Lok in Macau

The Asia Racing Team have confirmed they will enter Macanese driver Rodolfo Ávila and Hong Kong driver Sam Lok for the Guia Race of Macau, the finale round of both the TCR International Series and TCR Asia Series next weekend.

Ávila drove for the team during their first weekend at the TCR Asia Series’ standalone round in Malaysia at the Sepang circuit, winning the first race in the team’s SEAT León Cup Racer, while Sam Lok will be making his debut in the Series at the Guia circuit.

“The Guia Race is very special for Macau drivers and I am no exception,” said Ávila . “I know the circuit pretty well, but this is only the second time I race there in a touring car. I’ll have to make
some adaptations to my driving style, but I will put my head down and do the best I can do
for the team that is fighting to win the TCR Asia Teams’ title.”

Lok is principally a GT driver, although has some front-wheel drive experience from the Volkswagen Scirocco Cup China series, and it won’t be his first time at the famous street circuit either.

“This will be only my second time at the Guia circuit,” he said. ”I am happy that Asia Racing Team and StarSpeed Racing offered me the opportunity to take part in this great event. I don’t have high expectations, but I’m looking forward to gain more experience in one of the most demanding circuits in the world. Just participating in the event is already a dream come true for a Hong Konger.”
