Mario Ferraris to step in for Petr Fulín in Malaysia

Mario Ferraris will be at the wheel of the single Mulsanne Racing Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR at Sepang, Malaysia.

The principal of the Romeo Ferraris engineering company is also a very skilled and experienced racing driver, with a very respectable CV at the wheel of GT and touring cars, including last year’s championship assault at the wheel of his family’s creature, the Fiat Abarth Cinquone, which raced in the Campionato Italiano Turismo Endurance.

The son of the legendary Romeo Ferraris will replace regular driver Petr Fulín, who is busy in the European Touring Car Cup showdown at Imola. Michela Cerruti is still unwell and will not take part in the event.

“The choice to put Mario in the car is part of the technical development programme that we want to carry on in view of next season,” explained team manager Claudio Bortoletto. “He is very experienced in setting up and fine-tuning and will drive in a number of tests after the end of the season.”

The 48 years-old is only scheduled to take part in this weekend’s race, as Fulín should be available for the Macau season finale.
