Andy Yan wins second sprint at Ningbo ahead of Deng Bao Wei

Andy Yan took two wins from two in the TCR China races at the Ningbo International Speedpark, finishing ahead of Leo109 Racing’s Deng Bao Wei in his NewFaster Audi RS 3, while it was a disastrous race for title contenders Teamwork Motorsport.

Yan started from pole in the Audi ahead of the two Teamwork Volkswagens of Alex Hui and Sunny Wong.

Yan’s team-mate Huang Chu Han was quickly up to third after Sunny Wong stalled following an early release in his Golf GTI, while Hui and Huang came together at Turn 2, with Hui spinning off track and rejoining at the back of the field with his Teamwork team-mate.

Huang was out on lap two with broken suspension, while Wong scythed through the field and was quickly up to second, but then had to serve a drive-through penalty for his false start which put him back at the back of the order.

By lap three, the Leo109 Racing Audi RS 3 of Deng was now up to second, while just as in Race 1, Yan was pulling away at the front unchallenged, and went on to take a comfortable victory, extending his championship lead to 41 points over team-mate Huang, while Alex Hui is now nine points behind Huang in third.

The final race of the weekend is the one-hour endurance race, which takes place at 09:20 CST (02:20 CET) on Sunday.
