Class of 2018 hits the track in Spain for BOP tests

TCR’s ‘Class of 2018’ has hit the track in Spain for the annual Balance of Performance tests ahead of the new season, with cars representing eleven different brands appearing on track.

The two day test will see the Balance of Performance decided for the various series around the world running to TCR regulations, including the new World Touring Car Cup.

Dan Lloyd and Gianni Morbidelli have been tasked with driving duties, although Morbidelli was involved in an incident on day one of the test in Valencia that saw him go off heavily in the new Renault Mégane.

A number of other drivers, including Esteban Guerrieri, Gabriele Tarquini and Jordi Gené were also present to carry initial set-up work for the various manufacturers before the BOP tests were carried out.

The latest incarnation of the Honda Civic Type-R and the Peugeot 308 are amongst the new cars taking part in the tests, with a full gallery below showing the different cars on track…
