HMO Customer Racing add third Hyundai for TCR Australia

The HMO Customer Racing team has agreed a deal to acquire a third Hyundai i30 N TCR for the inaugural TCR Australia season.

The team had already announced plans to run two cars in the series, with the first having already arrived on Australian soil in time for the recent official series launch at the Sydney Motorsport Park – where Chaz Mostert was amongst the drivers to get behind the wheel.

Having seen good levels of interest in the project, the team has now taken the decision to purchase a third car which is now en-route to Australia by sea along with the second car, with both due to arrive in early January.

“The cars are on the water,” team co-owner Barry Morcom told Speedcafe.com. “We ordered two initially, we ordered chassis #35 and #36 and we airfreighted the first one.

“I think there is enough interest to sustain that already. I have been around motorsport for a long time and I see it as a great category.”

The inaugural season will get underway in May back in Sydney.
