Robert Dahlgren back for title tilt in 2019 with PWR Racing

PWR Racing have confirmed they’ll be back on the grid in the 2019 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship with Robert Dahlgren, with the 2017 champion chasing his second title in a re-liveried, purple Cupra TCR.

The team won the STCC teams’ title for the first time this year, running four cars for Dahlgren, Daniel Haglöf, Philip Morin and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, with all four winning races over the course of the 12-race season, running in the grey livery of the SEAT Dealer Team.

Next year, Dahlgren’s car will run in the purple of livery of new title sponsors Skellefteå Kraft, a Swedish energy company, and a key partner in the development of PWR Racing’s concept vehicle developed this year, the PWR 001 all-electric touring car.

In 2019, the series will continue to run TCR technical regulations, with PWR Racing carrying on racing the venerable SEAT León-based Cupra TCR.

“I feel a great pride with the confidence the team has in me and look forward to what we can accomplish together in the short and long term,” said Dahlgren.

“The goal is, of course, to win on the track, but equally important is to lead development towards a sustainable future. Motorsport has always been a leader in automotive testing and I am convinced that our cooperation with Skellefteå Kraft will be an important factor in the work towards a sustainable future,” he added.

“Sure, everyone wants to win when they’re standing on the start line, that’s the drive in all sports,” said team CEO Daniel Haglöf. “But we head to the future with the same challenge, to create a more sustainable society. Now, we look forward to working with Skellefteå Kraft as a strong partner to drive the development towards 100% renewable energy, both on and off the track.”
