Hyundai heaviest as first compensation weights come into force

The first round of compensation weights for the TCR Australian series has been announced with the Hyundai i30 N TCR becoming the heaviest car following the Sydney Motorsport Park season opener.

HMO Customer Racing driver Will Brown claimed two of the three victories of the first race weekend behind the wheel of his Hyundai and sits on top of the championship.

Two models will receive a 10kg weight reduction in the form of the Honda Civic TCR and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR, running a total of 50kg at Phillip Island.

The remainder of the models will run 30kg lighter for the coming round in the form of the Subaru WRX STi TCR, the Renault Megane RS TCR, the Audi RS 3 LMS, the Holden/Opel Astra TCR and the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.

All cars ran with full compensation weight of 60kg in the opening round of the season.

The second TCR Australia series race weekend takes place on June 8-9th at Phillip Island.
