21 cars entered for The Bend season finale

The Bend season finale will see the so far biggest TCR Australia series grid with 21 cars entered.

One of the new entries is Iain McDougall who will make his debut with Melbourne Performance Centre.

The 28-year-old, who has raced in the Victorian Sports Sedan Championship this season, will drive the #3 Audi RS 3 LMS previously driven by Leanne and Garth Tander.

“I’ve spent the last few years racing the ex-MINI Challenge cars. They are front wheel drive and it has prepared me extremely well for the TCR Australia cars,” said McDougall.

“I felt comfortable at the test, so it was good to have that under my belt before this weekend, but we just want to get a feel for it and demonstrate that we can be competitive. We would like to do a full season next year, but we’ll just get through this weekend and see how we fair.”

Also making their debut this weekend is the Peugeot factory team DG Sport with Aurélien Comte behind the wheel. The French team completed a 10-lap shakedown at The Bend earlier today.

A total of ten brands will be represented on the grid in the form of Audi, Alfa Romeo, Cupra, Holden, Honda, Hyundai, Peugeot, Renault, Subaru and Volkswagen.
