TCR Australia season opener at The Bend postponed

The TCR Australia series season opener at The Bend Motorsport Park, originally scheduled for June 12-14, has been postponed.

“Unfortunately we had to postpone The Bend round given the current circumstances and ongoing travel restrictions around the country,” said Michael Smith, director of the Motorsport Australia Championships, to Speedcafe.com.

“We are hopeful of being able to release a revised 2020 Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships calendar in the near future, as part of our overall ‘Return To Race’ strategy.”

The Bend round inherited the first race spot of the calendar following the cancellation of the first three rounds at Sydney Motorsport Park, Winton and Bathurst due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This means that Morgan Park has been elevated to host the first race weekend of the season on July 2-5.
