Jimmy Clariet given three-place grid penalty for practice infringement

Team Clairet Sport’s Jimmy Clairet has been handed a three-place grid penalty, effective for the first TCR Europe series race of the weekend at Paul Ricard.

The Frenchman was adjudged to have set his best time in Friday’s second free practice session under yellow flags and will therefore be dropped three spots on the grid.

Clairet had finished qualifying with the fifth fastest time, but will start the opening race of the season eighth.

The penalty only affects the grid for Race 1, with Profi Car Team Halder’s Mike Halder maintaining his Race 2 pole position.
