Brink Motorsport retains Hugo Nerman to drive Tesla in STCC

Brink Motorsport has confirmed Hugo Nerman for one of its Tesla Model 3 race cars in the 2023 STCC season.

“I’m thrilled to drive with Brink Motorsport for another season. I felt really comfortable with them last year and we have big common goals for the new electric STCC,” said Nerman.

The 23-year-old joined Brink Motorsport last year, driving an Audi to finish seventh overall with one win and a total of three podiums.

“Hugo took big steps forward with us last year and there was no doubt for us to continue our cooperation into the electric era of the STCC,” said team manager Ted Brink.

“There are plenty of new things for 2023, but Hugo has clearly shown that he can adapt and has a lot of past motorsport success from several different categories. We are aiming high for this season and we feel confident in that.”

Brink Motorsport will field three Teslas in the STCC this year, with Nerman being the first confirmed driver for the team.

“I can’t wait until I get seat time in our new Tesla Model 3 which is currently being produced,” said Nerman.

“It looks really potent and challenging to drive with a lot of power, something which will provide the spectators with a thrilling experience. That we’re also going to drive a street race in my home town Helsingborg is going to be magic!”
