Lachlan Mineeff secures season opener start

Lachlan Mineeff will be on the grid for the 2023 TCR Australia season opener at Symmons Plains, having previously planned to join the season from round two in May.

The Australian has secured a deal with Melbourne Performance Centre to drive the Audi RS 3 LMS which Will Brown raced last year.

“Due to the logistical challenges of preparing the car, our team had decided to miss Symmons Plains but it was a tough decision, knowing that I was going to give my rivals a big head start in the series,” Mineeff said.

“When the Melbourne Performance Centre crew offered me the opportunity to race one of their Audis, I jumped at the chance – it’s an opportunity to race in the opening round aboard a proven package, and make sure I start the season on the front foot.”

Mineeff will drive his own orange coloured Audi from round two at Phillip Island.

“The MPC team is a professional, well-resourced squad with an enormous amount of experience running entries not just in TCR, but in other high-profile categories like GT World Challenge Australia,” said Mineeff.

“Being able to drive for MPC and understand their processes over a race weekend will give me some valuable insights that will be useful for how we approach events with our own team throughout the rest of the season.”
