Leonel Pernía secures PMO Racing seat

Leonel Pernía will join the TCR South America grid from the second event of the season the Autódromo de Cascavel later this month.

Pernía will drive a Peugeot 308 TCR for the PMO Racing team having tested the car in Buenos Aires over the winter.

One of the most experienced touring car drivers from South America, Pernía has won the TC2000 title on three occasions and competed in WTCC in 2010.

“It’s great to join TCR South America that has attracted my attention since it started,” he said. “I had a very good feeling with the Peugeot during my test, and I love the TCR concept that makes possible to race in every part of the world with the very same car.

“Racing in the whole South American region is another great motivation.”
