Viktor Gustavsson beats Jimmy Eriksson by 0.001s in Ljungbyhed test

Exion Racing’s Viktor Gustavsson (Volkswagen) topped a close first official STCC pre-season test day at Ljungbyhed, beating Brink Motorsport driver Jimmy Eriksson (Tesla) by just 0.001 seconds.

Tobias Brink topped the first session of the day, setting a lap time of 57.262 to beat 2022 STCC champion Robert Dahlgren (Cupra) by just 29 thousands of a second.

Exion Racing driver Alexander Graff was third fastest, 0.055 seconds from the top time.

Gustavsson was fourth fastest in the first session ahead of a yet to be announced Exion Racing team-mate, while PWR Racing’s Axel Bengtsson rounded off the top six.

The second session saw 2022 karting world champion Gustavsson setting the so far fastest lap time at Ljungbyhed of the new electrified era with 56.526, beating Tesla Model 3 driver Eriksson by one thousand of a second.

Graff was just as in the first session third fastest, 0.073 seconds from the top time, while Brink was fourth fastest for Brink Motorsport, one tenth from Gustavsson.

Cupra Born driver Dahlgren was fifth fastest ahead of team-mate Bengtsson, 0.143 and 0.166 seconds off P1 respectively.

Testing continues tomorrow at Ljungbyghed with three further sessions.
