EXCELR8 open to working with new BTCC teams
British Touring Car Championship front-runners EXCELR8 Motorsport have expressed interest in working with any new teams that are looking to join the grid in the future.
The UK’s premier motorsport series recently announced that it has opened the door for two new teams to enter from 2025 and the Hyundai squad has offered a warm welcome to prospective entrants.
Since debuting in 2019, the team has become a BTCC powerhouse with their first win in 2021 being followed up by Tom Ingram claiming a maiden Drivers’ Championship crown just two years later.
Having gained vast knowledge and experience in recent years – in addition to that earned through years of success in the MINI CHALLENGE – EXCELR8 believes it is ideally placed to offer assistance to potential new entrants in a number of ways going into 2025 and beyond.
“It isn’t that long ago that we were the ‘new kids on the block’ when it comes to the BTCC, so we are well aware of the challenges that lie ahead for potential new entrants – particularly those who may not have competed at this level before,” said Justina Williams, Team Principal.
“Since making our debut with two of the oldest cars on the grid at the time, we have been able to gain an invaluable amount of knowledge and experience that has enabled us to develop our own car in-house, embark on our own engine programme and get into a position where we were able to secure the championship title in just our fourth season.
“Our Hyundai is a proven package as seen by the fact that three different drivers have been able to take race wins at the wheel this season and we are open to working with new entrants who are seeking hardware or engineering assistance as they make the step up.”
