Esteban Guerrieri heads Yann Ehrlacher in first TCR World Tour practice of 2025

Esteban Guerrieri headed Yann Ehrlacher by just 80 thousands of a second in the first free practice session of the 2025 FIA TCR World Tour season at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico.

The GOAT Racing Honda driver lapped the Mexican circuit in 1:34.655, setting his lap time early on, while his team-mate Ignacio Montenegro improved to third late in the session, 0.336 seconds behind.

The Lynk & Co Cyan Racing trio of Santiago Urrutia, Thed Björk and Ma Qing Hua occupied positions four to six, 0.484, 0.526 and 0.948 seconds from the top spot respectively.

The SP Competition duo of Aurélien Comte and John Filippi were next in seventh and eighth place, 1.3 seconds from Guerrieri, behind the wheel of their Cupra VZ TCRs.

Julio Rejón (Cupra) was fastest of the TCR Mexico drivers for team ProRally Mothers in ninth place.

The BRC Hyundai trio of Norbert Michelisz, Néstor Girolami and Mikel Azcona could only manage tenth, eleventh and 12th fastest times, close to two seconds slower than Guerrieri.

Next up is the second free practice session, starting at 16:50 local time/00:50 CEST.
