David Zhu and Zhang Zhen Dong claim TCR China victories at Ningbo
David Zhu and Zhang Zhen Dong claimed one win each as TCR China held round two of the 2025 season at Ningbo in China.
Lynk & Co driver David Zhu started Race 1 from pole position and claimed the lead ahead of Teamwork Motorsport team-mates Jason Zhang and Sunny Wong.
Zhang Zhen Dong started sixth and started to make his way up through the field, snatching third from Sunny Wong during the first part of the race.
The Hyundai driver then fought hard for second place with Jason Zhang, but the Lynk & Co driver was able to stay ahead as Zhang Zhen Dong had to settle for third.
David Zhu won the race by just over four seconds ahead of team-mate Jason Zhang while Zhang Zhen Dong rounded out the podium, six seconds behind.
Zhou Yun Jie started from pole in the second and final race, but the man on the move was Z.Speed N driver Zhang Zhen Dong who claimed the lead on the first lap from fifth on the grid.
Jason Zhang started eighth and started to pile the pressure on Zhang Zhen Dong, snatching the lead on lap 14.
There were two safety car periods during the race, with the first on lap two as Liu Hong Zhi and Sunny Wong clashed.
The second period came on lap five as Zhou Yun Jie went off track briefly.
Lynk & Co driver Jason Zhang crossed the finishing line first at the end of the race but was demoted to third place due to repeated track limit violations during the race.
Victory was instead handed to Hyundai Elantra N TCR driver Zhang Zhen Dong, with Teamwork Motorsport driver David Zhu close behind in second place.
Zhang Zhen Dong continues to head the standings on 162 points, eleven more than David Zhu.
The next TCR China round takes place at the Zhejiang International Circuit on June 28-29.
