Esteban Guerrieri: “I’m a little frustrated”
Esteban Guerrieri is the main threat to the Cyan Racing duo of Yann Ehrlacher and Thed Björk in the 2025 FIA TCR World Tour title fight, but left the South Korean race weekend frustrated.
“I’m a little frustrated, because with no compensation weight I hoped to be able to fight more but they (Yann and Thed) nailed it. We have to try and keep digging,” said Guerrieri.
The GOAT Racing Honda driver headed to Inje Speedium in second place overall, trailing Ehrlacher by 36 points but left the South Korean circuit in third place and 45 points from the lead.
Guerrieri carried no compensation weight this weekend while Ehrlacher had 30kg and the Argentinian driver once again struggled in qualifying, only managing sixth place.
The three races saw Guerrieri finishing ahead of his title rivals only in the first race after a strong charge to second place, then finishing fourth in Race 2 and third in Race 3.
“My strategy was first to try to get behind Thed and Yann, which I achieved so it was a good start, then I defended well,” said Guerrieri.
“I never really had a chance to try anything, but I hoped Yann could make a mistake or have some tyre drop off. It felt like a game of chess. But they made no mistakes and drove very well.”
The next round at Zhuzhou will see Björk carry 40kg while Guerrieri and Ehrlacher will have 30kg.
