Adam Shepherd confirms TCR Europe switch with Monlau

Reigning TCR UK title winner Adam Shepherd has confirmed that he will make the move up to TCR Europe for the 2026 season after concluding a deal with Monlau Motorsport.

Shepherd will join forces with Viktor Andersson in what will be a three-car line-up this season, with the final driver still to be confirmed.

Having won the TCR UK title with eight wins last year at the wheel of a Cupra Leon VZ, Shepherd then contested the final round of TCR Spain with the Monlau squad – fighting his way to victory in the second race of the weekend.

Shepherd is the first British racing driver announced for 2026 and will be looking to carry Monlau to a third successive title on the back of championship wins for both Franco Girolami and Jenson Brickley.

“We’re with the best team on the grid, and I know the car very well from the UK, so I think we’ve got a good chance to go out there and win the championship,” he said.

“I raced with the team in TCR Spain at the end of last year, and that was my first time on Kumho, which was a bit of a learning curve. Every time we went out we improved, getting the second fastest lap of the weekend and also a win, so we were improving all the time.

“We’ve already been doing some testing, as the most difficult bit for me this year will be that every circuit except Barcelona is going to be new, so it’s going to be interesting.

“It’s also going to be new for me having an engineer to learn together with. I also know my driving style is a little unique, so it’s been great working with an engineer that can understand what I like and we’ve already been making good steps forward.

“We know we’ve got a very strong team, so we’ve got to set our sights on trying to win the title.”
