GOAT Racing states TCR World Tour continuation still “under evaluation”

GOAT Racing has clarified the status around its potential entry to the 2026 FIA TCR World Tour season, following its earlier announcement that it would “focus its racing activities on the Ferrari Challenge and selected GT Cup races” this year.

“Last week, GOAT announced its future challenges and strategic direction,” said Pepe Oriola, team manager of GOAT Racing to TouringCarTimes.

“This does not exclude the possibility of continuing our trajectory in the TCR World Tour in 2026, which remains under evaluation.

“The Ferrari programme is more focused on gentlemen drivers and drivers who want to focus on having fun, while the world championship is for professional drivers as it is an FIA world championship.

“For us, these are completely different projects, and as a team and organisation we can cover both perfectly.”

The Spaniard would not confirm whether a potential 2026 entry would mean an unchanged setup in terms of cars and drivers.

“I cannot give more details, but the relationship with Honda will always be good,” said Oriola.

“At this moment, no final decision has been made.”

The 2026 FIA TCR World Tour starts on April 23-25 in Mexico, with teams shipping their cars around a month prior to that.
