Viktor Andersson takes comfortable win at Jarama

Monlau Motorsport driver Viktor Andersson scored a lights-to-flag victory in the 2026 TCR Spain season opener at Jarama.

The Cupra driver took the lead from the pole position at the start, followed by Audi’s Erik Zabala and Honda’s Sten-Dorian Piirimägi.

Manuel Fernandes (Cupra) settled in fourth position, opening a discreet gap over Victor Fernández (Honda) and Sandro Pelatti (Cupra) at the end of the first lap.

Piirimagi overtook Zabala for second place at the outside of Turn 1 on lap 14. The scrap between the two allowed Fernandes to also close the gap on Zabala.

The positions tjen remained unchanged until the chequered flag, with Andersson claiming a comfortable win over Piirimagi and with Zabala in third place.

Fernandes crossed the line in fourth position, with Fernández in fifth. Pelatti finished the race in sixth place, followed by Honda driver René Polvsen.

Luke Sargeant (Audi) completed his series’ debut in eighth position, followed by Busian Fontan (Audi) and Demir Eröge (Honda).

“I had the best starting position, I come from a different brand, so the launch was a bit different, but this time I managed to do it well and got a good gap,” said Andersson after the race. “I’m very grateful to Monlau, Cupra and our sponsors for making it possible this start to the season.”

The TCR Spain field returns to the track on Sunday afternoon at 16:10 CET for Race 2.
