Charles Rainford delighted by strong start to new campaign

Charles Rainford left Donington Park in a buoyant mood last Sunday after enjoying a strong start to the new British Touring Car Championship season.

The WSR driver charged to a third, fifth and sixth at the 2026 season-opener, clinching him second in the Drivers’ Championship as the series heads to Brands Hatch.

Rainford – who claimed a race win in just his sixth BTCC race last year – had nothing but praise for the BMW 330i M Sport too.

It’s been a very strong weekend for me and WSR,” said Rainford. “I’m second in the overall Drivers’ championship, which I’m delighted about.

“The BMW was flawless in the Qualifying Race, when we got a little bit lucky, and we continued that form through with a third, a fifth and a sixth.

“It’s been a fabulous weekend and I’m looking forward to Brands Hatch now.”
