Build programme begins for BTCC’s Junior Championship support series
Power Maxed Racing has announced that the build programme is underway on the first cars for the new Junior Championship that will support the British Touring Car Championship from next year.
The new car, dubbed the PM1, will be available ‘ready-to-race’ for £74,995 + VAT, although the first ten cars will be offered with a £5,000 sponsorship contributuon from Power Maxed in return for brand presence.
Budgets for a full season are expected to be around £85,000.
Deals have been agreed with a number of ‘household names’ to provide engines and electronics for the new cars, with further details to be revealed in due course, whilst the PM1 will benefit from ‘class-leading FIA compliant safety systems’.
The first chassis is due to be completed in the near future ahead of testing getting underway.
PMR has also confirmed that Laura Payne – who previously worked on the Fiesta Junior Championship – will take on the role of championship co-ordinator.
