Josh Cook pleased to secure front-row start for race one
Josh Cook was left relatively happy after claiming a second place finish in the British Touring Car Championship Qualifying Race at Snetterton.
After enduring a challenging Free Practice session earlier in the day, the Speedworks Motorsport driver bounced back in style as he hustled his Toyota Corolla GR Sport to third on the grid in qualifying.
Cook then enjoyed a sublime opening lap to move up to second in the Qualifying Race and that would be where he stayed, which in-turn allowed him to secure a spot on the front row of the grid for the first of tomorrow’s three races.
“It’s a solid result,” said Cook. “We made quite a few late set-up changes to the car ahead of qualifying so it was a bit of a mad rush but credit to the team for getting it done and for them working well.
“We’re certainly going to have to find more because the speed that the BMW of Charles (Rainford) has is impressive.
“We’ve obviously had a tough start to the season so the important thing tomorrow is to have a solid day and score big points in all three races.”
