Yann Ehrlacher tops delayed second practice in Vila Real
Geely Cyan Racing driver Yann Ehrlacher was the fastest driver in a delayed second free practice session of the FIA TCR World Tour weekend on the streets of Vila Real.
The delay was due to support classes and as the session started, track temperature reached over 51º.
Ehrlacher set a best lap time of 1:59.640, with Hyundai driver Norbert Michelisz two-tenths behind in second place.
Ma Qing Hua finish third, three tenths behind, ahead of fellow Geely driver Thed Björk who was eight-tenths off the pace.
Spaniard Mikel Azcona, who worked with his team-mate on tow training during the earlier part of the session, finished fifth, ahead of Cupra driver Aurélien Comte, 1.5 seconds behind Ehrlacher.
Championship leader Santiago Urrutia (Geely) finished the session in seventh place ahead of Viktor Andersson (Cupra).
Jimmy Clairet (Audi) and Jenson Brickley (Honda) completed the top ten, with the Briton three seconds behind Ehrlacher.
The programme at Vila Real is suffering delays, with Saturday’s qualifying session now due to start at 15:35 local time, 16:35 CEST.
