Mikey Doble scores pole position for Silverstone Qualifying Race

Mikey Doble will start this afternoon’s British Touring Car Championship Qualifying Race at Silverstone from pole position after topping the times in qualifying at the Northamptonshire circuit.

The Power Maxed Racing driver topped the times in Group 2 with a new lap record and that in-turn enabled him to secure a spot at the front of the grid for the upcoming 15-lap contest; which will decide the starting order for Sunday’s opening encounter.

WSR’s Daryl De Leon led the way in Group 2 but ultimately finished a few tenths short of Doble’s benchmark time. That therefore means that he will line up alongside the Audi driver on the front row of the grid shortly.

As per the series’ format for this season, the group with the pole-setting lap time will occupy the odd-numbered grid positions for the Qualifying Race, while the other group occupy the even-numbered grid positions. Both are ordered by their qualifying times.

Lining up third on the grid is EXCLER8’s Tom Chilton, who is starts ahead of the second WSR BMW of Charles Rainford. Occupying the third row on the grid directly behind them is Aiden Moffat and Daniel Lloyd.

Completing the top-ten is Adam Morgan, Sam Osborne, Aron Taylor-Smith and Dan Rowbottom.
