Craig Lowndes squeezed Holden on pole position for the second V8 Supercars race at Symmons Plains, beating Ford Performance Racing duo Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom.
Shane van Gisbergen made it three Fords in the top four, with Jamie Whincup in fifth and David Reynolds in sixth.
Garth Tander claimed seventh with the time 51.2162, compared to Lowndes’ pole lap of 51.0408. Lee Holdsworth, Tim Slade and Jonathon Webb rounded off the top ten while former DTM driver Alexandre Premat impressed with 11th fastest time and his best so far qualifying performance.
