Roberto Colciago takes lights-to-flag TCR Italy win at Vallelunga

Roberto Colciago took his eighth win of the season at Vallelunga, despite pressure from BRC Racing’s Alberto Viberti, effectively replicating what had happened in the first race. Just like this morning, Daniele Cappellari completed the podium in his SEAT.

Colciago took the lead at the start from pole position in his Honda Civic and never looked back. Viberti tried his best to overtake the former STCC champion but, although he was quicker in the fast sections of the Vallelunga track, the SEAT driver never managed to pass.

Cappellari finished a lonely third, as fellow SEAT driver Jimmy Ghione came home fourth, his BRC Racing León still suffering from the consequences of the crash he had this morning.

Behind them were the two TCT class drivers, with Andrea Bacci finishing ahead of team-mate Andrea Mosca in the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio.

Davide Pigozzi took an unexpected win in the TCS class in his SEAT Ibiza 1.8, as all the works León Cupras suffered from punctures and were forced back in the pits.

Next up for TCR Italy is Imola on September, 25th.
