Aaren and Drew Russell first confirmed Bathurst wild card

Brothers Aaren and Drew Russell have become the first confirmed wildcard entry for the Bathurst 1000 race in October.
“To do with it with my family and our own team makes it even more special. Motorsport is our passion, it’s something we go ‘all in’ on and the sacrifices we’ve all made show just how committed we are to it,” said Aaren Russell.

The brothers are regulars in the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series and will drive a GRM-built 2013 Holden Commodore in this years “Great Race”.

Aaren Russell recently tested for Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport during the additional driver practice session at Queensland Raceway and is currently placed 11th in the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series, driving a Ford Falcon for Paul Morris Motorsport.

Brother Drew Russell last raced a complete Dunlop V8 Supercars Series season in 2013, finishing seventh overall.

“We’re under no illusions as to our place in the pecking order when we head onto the track at Mount Panorama, we’re not contending to win the race but we absolutely will be putting our front foot forward to give a positive and professional account of ourselves,” said Drew Russell.

The brothers will warm up ahead of the Bathurst 1000 race by driving together in Aaren’s car in the mini-enduro race of the Dunlop series at Bathurst.
