Driveshaft failure costs Michela Cerruti retirement in Bahrain
Michela Cerruti drove the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR during its debut weekend in Bahrain.
The former Superstars Series race winner missed the second segment of Qualifying by six tenths, with the last available spot being taken by Target Competition’s Jordi Oriola, also in the debuting Opel Astra TCR. The driver reported understeer which prevented her from extracting the maximum out of the Italian car.
During the first race Cerruti was involved in a contact, which forced her to finish 13th. The second race saw the car fail to finish due to a driveshaft failure, which prevented the car from doing more precious mileage.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR was developed by Romeo Ferraris and is managed on track by Mulsanne Racing. The Alfa will be on track in Estoril, Portugal, on April, 24th, for the second event of the TCR International Series.
