Engine change penalty for Frédéric Vervisch in Hungary
Comtoyou Racing’s Frédéric Vervisch will start from the back of the grid for Race 1 in Hungary, after the team were forced to change the engine in his Audi RS 3 this weekend.
The team changed the engine ahead of Free Practice 1 yesterday, where the Belgian driver set the third fastest time.
No matter where he qualifies this afternoon, he will be forced to start from the back for Race 1, likely encouraging a reversed grid strategy in qualifying.
Also at the back will be Ferenc Ficza in the Zengõ Kia. The Hungarian isn’t serving the penalty for changing his car this weekend, but an overhanging engine change penalty from Austria, which he was unable to serve after he was withdrawn after a crash in practice.
