Mat’o Homola excluded from Hungary qualifying

DG Sport Compétition driver Mat’o Homola has been excluded from qualifying in Hungary following an investigation by the TCR technical delegate, which found the Slovakian’s Opel Astra TCR did not conform to the technical regulations.

Homola had qualified in fourth on the grid for tomorrow’s first race, but has now had all his times disallowed, promoting Craft-Bamboo Racing’s Pepe Oriola to fourth, and M1RA Honda’s Roberto Colciago to fifth.

The technical report confirming the nature of the infringement will be confirmed in the morning, with the team able to take part in the race from the back of the grid once the issue is resolved.

There is a change to the Race 2 pole, as 11th-placed Jens Reno Møller’s Honda has been moved up to tenth, and so will start first for the top ten reversed grid race ahead of the two WestCoast Racing Volkswagens.
