André Couto makes touring car return this weekend with MacPro Racing

Macanese driver André Couto will make his racing return this weekend at the second round of the TCR China Touring Car Championship, joining Henry Ho at MacPro Racing in their Honda Civic TCR.

41-year-old Couto has been away from the track after a serious accident last July in the China GT Championship round at Zhuhai, where he fractured his vertebra in a crash in D’Station Racing’s Nissan GT-R.

Speaking to Macau New Agency, Couto said:

“To be honest, I don’t have big expectations for the race since I haven’t trained with this car and on this race track. I’ll go (to Ningbo) today and already miss the practice, with a qualifying race already taking placing tomorrow. Not the ideal conditions but my mission is to help the team as much as possible; if I can get a good result, even better.”
