Wimmer Werk expand from two to four Cupras for 2019 season

Wimmer Werk Motorsport has confirmed an expansion from two to four Cupra TCR race cars for the 2019 TCR Italy series season.

Günter Benninger and Peter Gross, who drove for the team last year, will continue and will be joined by Christian Voithofer and team principal Felix Wimmer.

Three of the four Cupras of the team will have DSG gearboxes, the cars of Benninger, Gross and Voithofer, while Wimmer will drive a Cupra with sequential gearbox.

Last season saw Gross finishing 17th overall and Benninger finishing 35th overall.
