Cosimo Barberini claims Mugello pole position

Cosimo Barberini claimed the TCR Italy pole position at Mugello, beating rival Cupra driver and series debutant Mikhail Simonov by 0.194 seconds.

The two Cupra drivers were well clear of points leader Michele Imberti who was just over a second slower in third place for Kombat Motorsport.

Audi driver Matteo Poloni, who is placed third overall, claimed third on the grid for Gear Works, just 54 thousands of a second slower than Imberti.

Paolo Rocca claimed fifth place for Aikoa Racing, 1.110 seconds from pole, while Honda driver Marco Pellegrini will start sixth on the grid.

Carlo Alberto Bocca (Audi) and Sandro Pelatti (Cupra) rounded off the top eight, 1.366 and 1.418 seconds from the top spot respectively.

The first race of the weekend starts at 12:50 CEST on Saturday.
