Casper Elgaard returns for inaugural TCR Denmark season with TPR Motorsport

Casper Elgaard will return for the inaugural TCR Denmark season, as well as for selected STCC TCR Scandinavia races, following his previous split with Massive Motorsport.

“It gives me great pleasure to tell you that my comeback is secured this season after an almost four-year break from being a full-time racing driver,” said Elgaard.

“I will be racing together with TPR Motorsport this year in the Danish TCR championship and in one or two races in the STCC TCR Scandinavia championship.”

The four-time Danish touring car champion will race one of two Honda Civic Type-R TCRs that the team has bought from JAS Motorsport.

Young Danish driver Daniel Träger will drive the second Honda, making a switch straight from gokarts to TCR Denmark.

“I cannot wait to back in a race car and to compete against the best race car drivers there is in Denmark and in Sweden,” said Elgaard.

“Hopefully I will have some more good battles against my old rival, Jan Magnussen, as we have had so many times before. But also to race against Kasper H. Jensen who I have helped as team manager/engineer to two DTC championships in 2018 and 2019. All in all I am just very excited to go back to the thing I love, racing!”

Elgaard will also race in the Swedish V8 Thunder Cars series for TPR Motorsport and the team has previously confirmed team owner and driver Toni Persic for a full TCR Denmark season.
