Ma Quing Hua makes it three wins from three races at Zhuzhou

Ma Quing Hua has continued his domination of the TCR China championship season opener at the Zhuzhou International Circuit, claiming his third straight win.

Champ Motorsport driver Yang Xi started from pole position but was passed by MG driver Rodolfo Avila at the exit of the second corner on the first lap.

The Audi driver responded a couple of corners later, retaking the lead, also allowing Cui Yue to get past Avila.

Shell Teamwork Lynk & Co Motorsport driver Hua started fifth and was stuck behind He Xiaole for the first couple of laps with team-mate Lu Wei right behind.

Wei made his way past Ma and launched an attack on Xiaole on lap three. The attack resulted in contact between the two, with the MG driver retiring from suspension damage while Wei pitted with a puncture.

The incident saw Ma passing both and the former WTCR driver set off to chase the top three drivers.

Avila had meanwhile managed to get past his MG XPOWER team-mate Yue as Audi driver Xi had pulled up a gap in the lead.

Hua made his way past Yue on lap six, Avila on lap eight, setting his sights on leading driver Xi.

Ma made the move for the lead at the end of lap ten and went on to win the race by three seconds ahead of Xi and Avila.

Autohome Racing Team driver Lin Qi finished fourth ahead of MG driver Yue who dropped down to finish fifth.

Audi RS 3 LMS driver Wu Wifan finished sixth while Wei was able to get back out after his puncture to finish seventh, four laps down.

The fourth and final race of the Zhuzhou takes place at 17:15 local time / 11:15 CEST today.
