Rodolfo Ávila heads MG 1-2 in Tianma qualifying

Rodolfo Ávila headed an MG 1-2 in qualifying for the TCR China championship round at the Shanghai Tianma circuit, with team-mate Zhang Zhen Dong in second place.

Ávila claimed pole with 1:05.456 and was 0.153 seconds ahead of his MG XPOWER colleague.

Points leader Ma Quing Hua was fastest of the Lynk & Co drivers in third position, 0.255 seconds from pole position.

Rainey He made it three MGs in the top four, with Audi RS 3 LMS driver Filipe de Souza in fifth position for T.A. Motorsport.

326 Motorsport driver Wu Yifan claimed sixth position and was the final driver within one second from the pole time, 0.996 seconds slower than Avila.

Autohome Racing Team driver Wang Tao was seventh fastest behind the wheel of his Lynk & Co 03 TCR, while Sun Chao rounded off the top eight for MG.
