Ash Hand completes new look Power Maxed line-up

Power Maxed Racing has announced the signing of Ash Hand to complete its new-look line-up for the 2022 BTCC season.

Hand will become the third rookie on the grid alongside Dexter Patterson and George Gamble after inking a deal to partner Michael Crees at the wheel of a Vauxhall Astra.

Runner-up to Ash Sutton in the BTCC-supporting Renault Clio Cup back in 2015, Hand went on to compete in the British GT Championship and took the GT4 title in 2019 in an Aston Martin.

Hand has inked what the team is referring to as a ‘multi-year’ deal and will join the rest of the field on track for the season launch test at Thruxton next week.

“This is a dream come true for me,” he said. “The dream after this one is a race win in the BTCC and after that is to be crowned BTCC Champion.

“The deal we have put together, I believe, gives me the best possible chance of achieving this. A multi-year deal securing my future in BTCC is the holy grail of deals as a race driver.

“Adam [Weaver] and I have been working on this for years and to be honest this is something all racers generally only dream of. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Adam for the faith that he has already put in me and the work he has put in over the last few years to help get this over the line and put me out in one of his cars.

“I promise I am going to reward that with the results that heand all the team deserve.”
