Dan Cammish charges to BTCC pole position at Donington Park

Dan Cammish produced a superlative lap in British Touring Car Championship qualifying to snare pole position for the opening round of the 2025 season at Donington Park.

The Alliance Racing driver was wheel-perfect in the Quick Six shootout as he beat team-mate Ash Sutton and 2022 title winner Tom Ingram to top spot by 0.020s and 0.0 respectively.

Ingram had gone into the session having dominated both free practice sessions but was ultimately left to settle for third. Joining him on the second row of the grid was the third Alliance Ford Focus ST of Dan Rowbottom.

Ronan Pearson was another to impress as he guided his Speedworks Motorsport Toyota Corolla GR Sport to fifth ahead of Tom Chilton. After making it into the shootout of pole position, Chilton ground to a halt with a mechanical issue that brought his session to an early end.

One Motorsport’s Josh Cook finished seventh however he could well have been inside the top six had he not been baulked by Aron Taylor-Smith heading into the final chicane.

Reigning champion Jake Hill emerged as the lead West Surrey Racing BMW in eighth, marginally ahead of the aforementioned Taylor-Smith and Power Maxed Racing’s Mikey Doble.

Outside the top ten, three-time champion Gordon Shedden finished 13th while Adam Morgan – who had featured inside the top five in both practice sessions – languished in 21st after falling foul of exceeding track limits.
