Dan Cammish elated to kick off new season with pole position

Dan Cammish has shared his delight at claiming pole position for the opening British Touring Car Championship round of the season at Donington Park.

After featuring inside the top-six across both free practice sessions earlier in the day, the Alliance Racing driver came good in qualifying to deliver a lap that was marginally slower than the existing lap record.

Cammish lines up ahead of his four-time champion team-mate Ash Sutton, while Ingram will be one to watch as he goes from third on the grid tomorrow.

“First pole of the year feels really good,” said Cammish. “We’ve been there or thereabouts all day and then when it mattered, we came good at the very end.

“Donington Park hasn’t always treated me well so this one means a lot; especially as this is the only time this season that we all have the same amount of boos – giving you a true sense of where everyone is for speed.

“We’re in a good place as a team going into tomorrow so it’s now about executing on race day.”
