Nick Halstead joins Power Maxed Racing for remainder of the season

Nick Halstead will return to the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend after inking a deal to join Power Maxed Racing, driving a second Vauxhall Astra for the team.

Following approval by series organisers TOCA – given that it is an additional and late entry and thus fell outside the normal TBL/entry policy and timelines – Halstead will join Mikey Doble at the Independent squad for the remainder of the season.

Halstead had spent the past two years racing for EXCELR8 Motorsport before stepping away at the start of this year. His best result to-date in the series was a 7th place finish at Donington Park in 2023.

“Joining Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing alongside Mikey Doble truly is my Dream Drive come true,” said Halstead.

“But what makes this partnership special isn’t just fulfilling my personal racing ambitions – it’s about creating dream experiences for fans. I’m not here claiming to be the fastest driver on the grid – I’m here to have fun and bring fans closer to the sport they love through our DreamDrive platform.”

Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing Team Principal, added: “Nick’s DreamDrive vision aligns perfectly with our ambitions to connect with fans in meaningful ways. His digital-first mindset and innovative approach to fan experiences complement our racing programme.”
