Callum Newsham targets TCR UK title with full-season Elantra programme

Callum Newsham has confirmed that he will return to TCR UK in 2026 for a full season with his Hyundai Elantra.

Newsham will embark on his first full campaign with the Elantra after switching into the model from an older Hyundai i30 N mid-way through the 2025 season, where he ultimately finished second in the championship standings.

The Hyundai will continue to be run by the JH Racing team with which Newsham has competed since 2023, scoring multiple race wins to establish himself as a series front runner.

“I’m really excited to be coming back to TCR UK for 2026 with JH Racing,” he said. “The last two seasons have been very strong for us — third in 2024 and Vice Champion in 2025 — but the target now is clear. I want to be on the top step.

“The Hyundai Elantra was a big step forward for us last year, and continuing with JH Racing gives me total confidence that we’ve got everything we need to fight for the championship. I’m more motivated than ever and can’t wait to get back on the grid.”

Team boss James Hone was pleased to confirm Newsham’s continued relationship with the squad into another season.

“Continuing into our fourth season with Callum gives all of us at JH Racing a great sense of pride,” he said.

“We have been devastatingly close to winning the championship twice now with the i30 N. Now our switch to Hyundai Motorsport’s latest machinery — the Elantra N Evo — and having already secured the model’s first-ever race win on UK soil with Callum, combined with a full revamp behind the scenes over the winter, puts us in our best starting position yet ahead of the 2026 season.

“It’s been a very long winter and we’re all itching to get going.”
