Fredrik Ekblom heads Volvo 1-2 in first Mantorp test

Fredrik Ekblom headed Volvo Polestar Racing team mate Thed Björk in the first test session of the 2014 STCC season finale at Mantorp Park. The Volvo duo were alone in getting below the 1:17 barrier with 1:16.689 and 1:16.791 respectively.

Dacia Dealer Team driver Mattias Andersson jumped to third position right at the end of the session, 0.340 seconds from Ekblom’s top time.

Daniel Haglöf showed promising form for PWR Racing in fifth position, four tenths from first position, with Saab colleague Richard Göransson in sixth position, a mere two thousands of a second behind Haglöf.

Björk’s main title rival Fredrik Larsson had a tough first test session, managing only seventh position behind team mate Philip Forsman in sixth. The BMW driver was close to seven tenths of a second behind Ekblom in the top.

Linus Ohlsson was top Kia driver in eighth position ahead of Jan “Flash” Nilsson in ninth and Mattias Lindberg in tenth.
