Johan Kristoffersson hoping for 2017 STCC drive with SEAT

Johan Kristoffersson secured third place in the 2016 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship and hopes to remain with SEAT in the championship next year with the new TCR regulations.

”This has been an amazing season and I really feel comfortable at PWR Racing. I hope that there will be more STCC driving for me further on,” said Kristoffersson.

The SEAT Dealer Team PWR Racing driver won the penultimate race of the season and beat Flash Engineering driver Björn Wirdheim by 23 points to claim third in the drivers’ championship, but was 88 points behind champion Richard Göransson.

”Keeping in mind the limited amount of tests and experience we’ve had this year compared to the winners (Volvo), I think we have done a good job by beating them on pure pace several times this season,” said Kristoffersson.

Kristoffersson is in contention for the World Rallycross Championnship title this year for Volkswagen, currently placed third in the championship, while fellow Swede and DTM driver Mattias Ekström currently leads the standings.
