Johan Kristoffersson completes perfect weekend in Finland with third win

There was no stopping Johan Kristoffersson from making the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship weekend at Alastaro in Finland perfect by claiming win number three out of three in the final race of the weekend.

The 2012 STCC champion made it a second Kristoffersson Motorsport 1-2-3 of the weekend, winning the race close to four seconds ahead of team-mate Fredrik Blomstedt in second and 13 seconds ahead of team-mate Fredrik Ekblom who has claimed the championship lead.

Kristoffersson started from pole, with the top three position unchanged throughout the race.

Mattias Andersson of Honda Racing Sweden was able to muscle his way past the now former championship leader Robert Dahlgren who struggled in the race, dropping down to finish fifth, losing vital points.

Dahlgren came under pressure from a three-car fight, involving Joonas Lappalainen, Dennis Strandberg and Antti Buri. The trio seemed to have the pace on Dahlgren, but a hard fight among the three let Dahlgren build up a gap.

Audi driver Lappalainen came out on top from the three-car fight to finish sixth, with Strandberg seventh. Buri developed a technical problem two laps from the end and dropped to 14th.

PWR Racing co-owner Daniel Haglöf had a tough race, stalling from second place on the grid and finished tenth.

Ekblom heads the championship on 111 points, five points ahead of Dahlgren while Kristoffersson has jumped up to third despite missing the first race weekend due to clashing WRX commitments, 33 points behind team-mate Ekblom.

The STCC continues on June 16-17th at Solvalla in Sweden.
