SBR uncovers new look Falcon
Stone Brothers Racing and JELD-WEN Motorsport will continue their successful partnership into 2008, with SBR confirming today that both parties signed off on a new agreement mid-way through 2007.
The current deal will see James Courtney remain behind the wheel of the JELD-WEN Motorsport Falcon in 2008.
While the driver remains the same, the number-four SBR BF Falcon sports a very different colour scheme from previous years, the new livery unveiled on the SBR website (www.stonebrothersracing.com.au) today.
National Marketing Manager Bruce Tosello said the JELD-WEN Group is looking forward to the new V8 Supercar season.
“In our third year as a team, it’s shaping up to be yet another action packed and thrilling championship.”
“As a marketing initiative, our partnership with James and SBR for the past two years has worked very effectively to introduce the JELD-WEN brand to Australia and position the iconic brands of Stegbar, Corinthian, William Russell, Airlite and Regency Screens as the first choice for Australian builders and homeowners across the country.”
“We’ve changed the livery for 2008 as we have the past two years to give the car a fresh look for a new season. This year the primary colours are the blue tones synonymous with the JELD-WEN global branding and we’re very happy with they way it has come together. We’re confident and believe it will look particularly good when James takes his first race win this season!”
SBR Team Owners Ross and Jimmy Stone are extremely pleased to see the partnership continuing.
“We have been involved with JELD-WEN for the past two years and with Stegbar for a number of years before that. They have been both professional and supportive in their approach to motor sport at all times,” said Ross Stone.
With the commercial side completed, Stone is enthusiastic about SBR’s chances for a fourth V8 Supercar Championship in 2008.
“SBR and JELD-WEN are more than confident that we can step up and challenge for the title this year.”
“We have had some success with James for JELD-WEN with two Bathurst podiums and other podium positions at Oran Park, the Clipsal 500 Adelaide and the Desert 400 in Bahrain but we believe that there is a lot more in the tank.
“SBR has taken the opportunity to create a fresh and positive approach to 2008. We have appointed David Stuart as Team Manager and put together a new engineering team. Everyone is back from the break refreshed and keener than ever to go racing.”
