SBR have the Tools to do the job

SP Tools and Stone Brothers Racing have announced a new partnership which will see SP Tools as the naming-rights sponsor of SBR’s number-nine BF Ford Falcon in 2008.

The new SP Tools Racing Falcon, which will be driven by young Kiwi talent Shane van Gisbergen in the 2008 V8 Supercar Championship Series, was unveiled at SP Tools headquarters in Acacia Ridge.

Kevin Davis, Managing Director of SP Tools, says the synergy between SBR and SP Tools is spot on.

“SP Tools is the youngest tool company in Australia so it’s fitting that we have the youngest V8 Supercar driver in the field piloting the SP Tools Racing Falcon,” says Davis.

“In addition, the SP Tool brand is growing at an amazing rate and there is no doubt that Shane’s star is on the rise so it’s a great match.”

Davis adds that the link with SBR is priceless in terms of product development.

“SBR has been using SP Tools for 12 months now and the feedback we get from the team has proven immensely valuable to us in making the SP Tool product even better.”

SP Tools has stepped up as the naming-rights sponsor this year following eight years as an associate sponsor of the Gold-Coast based team.

Team co-owner Ross Stone says it has been a bonus to have an existing team sponsor take up the naming-rights sponsorship.

“We already had a great working relationship with SP Tools so to have them step up to the plate as a major sponsor has been perfect,” says Stone.

“We have been involved with the company since 2000 through SP Air Tools.

“SBR has always had absolute confidence in the SP Air Tool brand in pit lane and it is no different with SP Tools. The whole team uses SP Tools and think they are great.

Stone concludes, “Jimmy and I welcome the team at SP Tools on board and look forward to a successful partnership in 2008 and beyond.”
