D’Alberto ready for Eastern Creek
Tony D’Alberto made himself so much at home in the Rod Nash Racing Commodore at Adelade that he is looking forward to the next round at Eastern Creek.
The #55 Bottle-o sponsored Commodore made it through the opening round of the Championship without too much damage, avoiding the bruising suffered by many other cars in the field, ensuring the team is in a good position to prepare for Eastern Creek.
With only a few bent panels to sort out, team engineers have been saved from repairing structural damage and have reassigned their attention to finetuning the car to suit the fresh set of challenges served by the Eastern Creek circuit.
The team will be greeted by three races at Eastern Creek, marking this weekend as a round of great opportunity where maintaining car performance will be vital. D’Alberto is feeling confident about Round 2 and has put the groundwork in place for another great performance.
“Between the two rounds I have been going through Adelaide with my engineer discussing things to improve on, and also preparing myself for Eastern Creek.” D’Alberto said, “I have been watching last year’s Eastern Creek round on DVD to try and pick up on extra tips for how to go fast around the 4km track.
“The best part about the circuit is turn one. You approach the corner doing 270 km/h, down change back to 5th gear and try and carry as much corner speed as you can. From what I remember in 2005 we were doing about 210 km/h through the corner. It gets your attention!”
D’Alberto will soon have his chance to get trackside and put the car through its paces on the circuit.
