Cochrane re-elected for two more years

The board of V8 Supercars Australia has re-elected foundation Chairman Tony Cochrane and independent board member Roger Cook for a further two-year term.
Mr Cochrane was re-elected with a unanimous board vote to continue. He is currently in his 12th year as Chairman of V8 Supercars Australia.

“I still have a number of things I want to see materialise,” Mr Cochrane said.

“Foremost on the list is real cost containment amongst the teams, a Sydney street race, expansion of the Championship and the bedding down of a new CEO to replace Wayne Cattach who retires at years end.”

Mr Cook was re-appointed as an independent board member with a second to be installed in the coming months.

“Roger brings to the board his wealth of experience in being Chairman of the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and his tremendous background knowledge not only of the sport but business in general,” Mr Cochrane said.

“He was instrumental in the amalgamation of our board into one business unit and is a very key part of our overall strategy for the sport in the next five years.”

Mr Cochrane and Mr Cook are joined on the board by team representatives Ross Stone, Tim Edwards, Larry Perkins and Paul Morris, along with Sports Entertainment Limited’s James Erskine.
